Geverifieerde ruling Svellsongur #

Svellsongur (§369.1.)

Attaching Svellsongur to Aphelios will NOT cause Aphelios to trigger twice—correcting the previous Spiritforged FAQ ruling. Because the attach event resolves before Svellsongur copies effect text, Svellsongur does not have the copied ability at the time of attachment, so Aphelios's triggered ability cannot see a second attach event. Citaat uit de bron: “the answer in the Spiritforged FAQ is no longer true: if you attach Svellsongur to Aphelios, he will not trigger twice.”

Geverifieerde ruling Akshan, Mischievous #

Akshan, Mischievous (§370.1.b.1.)

When Akshan, Mischievous steals Shady Spectacles and his controller chooses to copy Aphelios, Aphelios's triggered ability does not trigger. The attach event has already completed before the copy effect is applied, so Aphelios's new triggered ability (gained via copy) cannot react to an attachment event that already occurred. Citaat uit de bron: “if his controller chooses to make him a copy of Aphelios, it's too late by that point for his new triggered ability to see the attachment event”

Geverifieerde ruling Svellsongur #

Svellsongur

When Svellsongur is attached to Aphelios, Exalted, he gains a second copy of his triggered ability in time for both copies to trigger on that attach. The 'choose one that hasn't been chosen this turn' restriction applies separately to each instance of the ability, so the same option can be chosen for both, but tracking must be kept per-copy. Citaat uit de bron: “He does have the second copy of his ability in time, and it will trigger. The 'one that hasn't been chosen this turn' restriction applies separately to each instance of his ability.”

Geverifieerde ruling Heisho, Shell of the World #

Heisho, Shell of the World (§766., 767.)

While a spell or ability has at least one target that is a unit located at Heisho, Shell of the World, all instances of Deflect on all units are treated as inactive when paying costs for that spell or ability. This applies only to that specific spell or ability instance; a subsequent spell or ability targeting units not at Heisho must still pay for Deflect normally. Citaat uit de bron: “While your spell or ability chooses a unit at Heisho, Shell of the World, you ignore deflect while paying for the spell.”

Geverifieerde ruling Astral Heron #

Astral Heron

Astral Heron's triggered ability discounts the next card played (added to the chain and queued for finalization) this turn after the ability resolves. Erratum wording: 'When you play your first card each turn, if I'm at a battlefield, the next card you play this turn costs [2]AA less.' Geverifieerde ruling Dragon Form #

Dragon Form

Dragon Form sets a unit's base Might to 5 via the Trait-Altering layer; existing arithmetic modifiers (e.g., Stupefy's -1) are applied in the Arithmetic layer. Layer evaluation is instantaneous—there is no window where the unit momentarily exists at 5 Might before the modifier is applied. A unit under both Dragon Form and Stupefy is immediately 4 Might; Fiora, Grand Duelist will not trigger. Citaat uit de bron: “this process happens instantaneously; there is no window while evaluating layers for the unit to see itself become 5 M and then go down to 4 M”

Geverifieerde ruling Iascylla #

Iascylla (§359.3.f.1.)

Iascylla's delayed trigger references the battlefield she held at the time her trigger condition fired, not at resolution. Geverifieerde ruling Mel, Newly Awakened #

Mel, Newly Awakened (§375.)

When Stupefy (give -1M, minimum 1M) is cast while an empowered Mel, Newly Awakened is in play, Mel's replacement effect changes the -1M to -2M, but the replaced event inherits Stupefy's "to a minimum of 1M" modifier. A replacement effect inherits any modifications applied by the game effect that generated the replaced event, so a 2M unit becomes 1M. Citaat uit de bron: “a replacement effect that replaces an event modified by the game effect that generated that event will inherit any of those modifications”

Geverifieerde ruling Repulse #

Repulse vs Alpha Strike (targeting arrow count)

Repulse counts all targeting relationships ('arrows') pointing from a spell to friendly units, regardless of whether those targets currently meet the spell's targeting restrictions. Units moved to base by Flash are still targeted by Alpha Strike (arrows are 'grayed out' but present), so Repulse counts them and cannot counter Alpha Strike unless all remaining targeted units have moved to a non-board zone. Citaat uit de bron: “Repulse cares about the number of those arrows that point to friendly units, not the color of the arrows.”

Geverifieerde ruling Glasc Mixologist #

Glasc Mixologist (Deathknell, Unleashed update) (§187.4.c)

As of the Unleashed rules update, when Glasc Mixologist dies alone at a battlefield it controls, the unit from its Deathknell can be played to that same battlefield regardless of whether Combat is occurring. Previously this was only possible during an active Combat. Geverifieerde ruling Deflect #

Deflect

Deflect is a mandatory additional cost: you must pay it if you want to finalize a spell or ability that chooses a unit with Deflect. The fact that you can choose not to finalize triggered abilities (to avoid paying) does not make the cost optional. Ezreal, Prodigy cannot reduce Deflect costs. Geverifieerde ruling Ride the Wind #

Ride the Wind

If Ride the Wind targets a unit at Vilemaw's Lair and instructs it to move to base, Vilemaw's Lair's 'Units can't move from here to base' negates (does not ignore) the move instruction. Because the instruction is negated rather than ignored, linked instructions such as readying the unit still execute—the unit will be readied. Citaat uit de bron: “They will be readied...An instruction is not ignored if an ability, effect, or circumstance of the game prevents it from occurring.”

Geverifieerde ruling Flow #

Flow

A spell played for its Flow cost is banished even if countered by Abandon. "Then banish it" means: if the flow spell would leave the chain after becoming a finalized chain item, and leaving the chain was not instructed by the spell's own execution, banish it instead. Abandon returning the spell to hand counts as such a departure, so the spell is banished rather than returned. This also applies to effects like Kai'Sa, Evolutionary and Fizz, Trickster. Citaat uit de bron: “No matter how it happens, as long as the flow spell leaving the chain wasn't instructed by the execution of the spell itself, it will be banished.”

HOT FEPR is recursive: the procedures that designate tasks as outstanding are themselves steps or substeps that wait until all outstanding tasks and all chain items are completed before moving on.
