Rell, Magnetic is revised to use a reflexive trigger for Equipment attachment: when she attacks and you play a qualifying Equipment for free, 'then do this:' attaches it to her as a separate chain item, allowing players to respond before the attachment resolves.
Citaat uit de bron: “If you do, then do this: Attach it to me.”
Action Spells may be played during the controller's turn or during a Showdown; on an opponent's turn, a player may only play Action Spells during Showdowns.

“Most Spells are labeled Action, which means you can play them during your turn or during a Showdown. If it's not your turn, you can only play Action Spells during Showdowns.”
Rumble, Hotheaded can choose a Mech token to recycle. Tokens inherit the recycle destination of their type—a token that is a unit or gear is recycled to the Main Deck. The token then vanishes (as tokens do whenever they leave the board), but it still counts as 'the unit you recycled,' so Rumble can check its Might.
Citaat uit de bron: “tokens 'inherit' the recycle destination of their type(s), so a token that's a unit or gear is recycled to your Main Deck… it still counts as 'the unit you recycled' and Rumble can check its Might.”
During the Beginning Phase, each player channels 2 Runes from the top of their Rune Deck; the second player channels 3 Runes on their very first turn to compensate for going second.

“If you're going second on your very first turn, you get 3 Runes instead to help catch up.”
When Rebuttal resolves and the new controller pays A, they may remake any number of targets or modes; choices not remade must still be legal. If no new choices are made at all, all current choices (legal or not) remain unchanged. Spell rules about valid choice locations (e.g., face-down play restrictions) apply regardless of who controls the spell when new choices are made.
Citaat uit de bron: “You can choose any number of targets or modes to make new choices for. The rest remain the same. If you are remaking choices... any choices you choose not to remake must be legal choices.”
Gear cards enter play in the Ready state (not Exhausted), so they can be used immediately; Gear always enters at the controller's Base.

“Gear cannot hold or conquer battlefields, and can only exist in base. If a Gear card is played at a battlefield, it is immediately recalled to the base.”
Arise! is revised to use a reflexive trigger: it first plays a 2 M Sand Soldier unit token for each Equipment you control, then 'Then do this:' readies up to two of them, allowing players to respond between the two effects.
Citaat uit de bron: “Play a 2 M Sand Soldier unit token for each Equipment you control. Then do this: Ready up to two of them.”
Repeat causes you to repeat execution of a spell's 'instructions,' which are the things the spell tells you to do as it resolves. It does not repeat costs or cost reductions—only the resolution instructions.
Citaat uit de bron: “Repeat causes you to repeat execution of a spell's 'instructions,' which are the things the spell tells you to do as it resolves”
Each Battlefield can only award 1 point per turn; moving a unit away and replacing it with another unit in the same turn does not grant additional points.

“Moving away from a battlefield and back to it with another unit the same turn will not gain you a bonus point.”
Ravenbloom Student's triggered ability checks whether a spell you control resolves, not whether you finalized it. Gaining control of an opponent's already-finalized spell (e.g., via Rebuttal on Stupefy) still causes the ability to trigger when that spell resolves.
Citaat uit de bron: “Ravenbloom Student's triggered ability checks whether a spell that you control resolves. You gained control of the Stupefy, and it resolved, so you will have triggered Ravenbloom Student's ability.”
Reflexive triggers, identified by 'then do this:' language, create new chain items to handle effects that need to offer players a chance to react between two effects, or that must happen after the rest of a spell or ability resolves.
Citaat uit de bron: “Reflexive triggers, identified by 'do this:' language, create new chain items to handle things that need to offer players a chance to react, or just need to happen later”
If Ride the Wind targets a unit at Vilemaw's Lair and instructs it to move to base, Vilemaw's Lair's 'Units can't move from here to base' negates (does not ignore) the move instruction. Because the instruction is negated rather than ignored, linked instructions such as readying the unit still execute—the unit will be readied.
Citaat uit de bron: “They will be readied...An instruction is not ignored if an ability, effect, or circumstance of the game prevents it from occurring.”
Signature Cards are Legend-specific cards that can only be included in a deck matching their designated Legend, with a maximum of 3 total Signature Cards permitted across the entire deck.

“You can only use them with their matching Legend, and you can't put more than 3 total Signature Cards in your deck.”
HOT FEPR is recursive: the procedures that designate tasks as outstanding are themselves steps or substeps that wait until all outstanding tasks and all chain items are completed before moving on.
Citaat uit de bron: “the procedures which designate tasks as outstanding are themselves steps or substeps. Anytime the Core Rules Document says 'the following task(s) become outstanding,' that step itself waits”
When an Attacker destroys all Defending units and still has units remaining, they conquer the Battlefield and immediately score 1 point; additionally, every time a Battlefield is conquered without winning the game, the conquering player draws a card.
community (1 bron, trust 0.50, officieel bevestigd, status=unreviewed — nog niet gereviewd)
“every time you conquer a Battlefield but it doesn't win you the game, you get to draw a card”
Repulse counts all targeting relationships ('arrows') pointing from a spell to friendly units, regardless of whether those targets currently meet the spell's targeting restrictions. Units moved to base by Flash are still targeted by Alpha Strike (arrows are 'grayed out' but present), so Repulse counts them and cannot counter Alpha Strike unless all remaining targeted units have moved to a non-board zone.
Citaat uit de bron: “Repulse cares about the number of those arrows that point to friendly units, not the color of the arrows.”
Deflect is a mandatory additional cost: you must pay it if you want to finalize a spell or ability that chooses a unit with Deflect. The fact that you can choose not to finalize triggered abilities (to avoid paying) does not make the cost optional. Ezreal, Prodigy cannot reduce Deflect costs.
Citaat uit de bron: “Deflect is a mandatory additional cost, meaning you must pay it if you want to finalize a spell or ability that chooses something with Deflect.”
Units with the Ganking ability may move directly from one Battlefield to another, whereas normal units can only move between their controller's Base and a Battlefield.
community (2 bronnen, trust 0.75, officieel bevestigd, status=unreviewed — nog niet gereviewd)
“only units with the Ganking ability may move between battlefields”
Legion checks whether cards were finalized by an opponent, not whether an opponent controls a spell that resolves. A spell finalized by an opponent but subsequently taken over via Rebuttal still counts as finalized by the opponent, so Legion abilities remain active.
Citaat uit de bron: “Battering Ram and Legion … check whether cards were finalized. Although you gained control of Stupefy, you did not finalize it; you got it after it was already finalized by your opponent.”
Ravenborn Tome's Bonus Damage effect now applies only to the next spell played 'this turn,' preventing the bonus from carrying forward to future turns.
community (1 bron, trust 0.50, officieel bevestigd, status=unreviewed — nog niet gereviewd)
“The next spell you play this turn deals 1 Bonus Damage.”
Jax's Equipment everywhere have Quick-Draw: each gains Reaction, meaning when you play it, you attach it to a unit you control. This is captured in the revised text.
Citaat uit de bron: “Your Equipment everywhere have Quick-Draw. (Each gains Reaction. When you play it, attach it to a unit you control.)”
A player cannot be compelled to perform an action on cards whose privacy is secret or private if that action specifies a type or quality of card. If such an effect would compel this, the player may ignore it instead. This means Rift Herald's Deathknell cannot force an opponent to play a unit from hand.
Citaat uit de bron: “A player cannot be compelled to perform an action on cards whose privacy is secret or private if that action specifies a type or quality of card.”
When Deceiver's reflexive trigger copies Zilean, Time Mage, the two Reflection tokens resolve and become copies of Zilean. However, there is no subsequent 'play token' game action for Zilean's replacement effect to apply to, so no further tokens are produced and the loop does not repeat.
Citaat uit de bron: “there is no subsequent play game action involving tokens to apply their replacement effects to”
Falling Star is no longer a reflexive trigger. All targets are chosen upfront before anything resolves; the opponent can react before resolution; then each chosen unit takes 3 damage on resolution. The same unit may be chosen for both instances.
Citaat uit de bron: “you pick all the targets up front, the other player can react before any of it resolves, and then each of the units affected take the damage on resolution”
Icathian Rain is no longer a reflexive trigger. All six targets are chosen upfront before anything resolves; the opponent can react before resolution; then each chosen unit takes 2 damage on resolution. The same unit may be chosen for multiple instances.
Citaat uit de bron: “you pick all the targets up front, the other player can react before any of it resolves, and then each of the units affected take the damage on resolution”
Errata may impact the effective power level of cards, but Riot has no plans to issue errata strictly for power level reasons — only to make cards work within the rules and as intended.
